Welcome to the Challock village website where you will find information on all our village has to offer.
Challock sits high on the North Downs above Ashford in Kent in a pretty and peaceful rural setting within an area of oustanding natural beauty and the well kept Lees forms a picturesque centre and helps give us a classic English Village look. With a population of around 830 Challock is a small village but has some big ideas and as with every good village has a strong community spirit.
One of our greatest assets is our primary school which has a superb reputation and is oversubscribed for places every year. As well as producing excellent academic results the children at the school are exceptionally well behaved and they contribute greatly to village life.
We have a large number of businesses within the village, further details of which can be found within our web pages, and these provide both employment and local services to both villagers and visitors alike.
Whatever your reason for visiting our website I hope that it is informative.
Challock is a special village and those who live here are proud to call it home.

THE FIVE CHURCH WALK 2017 - BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY, MAY 1st
This successful event will take place again this year.
The proceeds from walkers' sponsorships and donations go towards the running expenses and quotas for the churches of Challock, Molash, Chilham, Godmersham and Boughton Aluph and also to the Kent Air Ambulance and The Pilgrims' Hospices. It is each walker's choice which churches or charities to support but obviously we in Challock and Molash hope that Ss Cosmas & Damian and St Peter's will be uppermost in your thoughts!
The walk is almost totally through woodlands and fields, taking place at the height of the bluebell season. Already the skylarks and woodpeckers have been heard practising and hopefully we will hear cuckoos too. The route is clockwise this year between the churches of Challock, Molash, Chilham, Godmersham and Boughton Aluph. You can either walk the entire circuit of 16 1/4 miles - and it will still be 16 1/4 miles regardless of where your starting point is! or leisurely strollers can walk any one or more stages of between 2 3/4 and 4 1/4 miles, so there is something for everyone and their dogs. Refreshments, loos and carparking (down the hill for Chilham) are provided at each church.
Entry forms will be available from the church porches, Challock Post Office, Dene Cottage porch (top of Church Lane, Challock) and The George Inn, Molash from mid-April and on the day when booking in. They can also be downloaded from our very own web site www.thefivechurchwalk.co.uk, so take a look at it. It will whet your appetite for taking part. Starting time is from 10 am onwards with returns no longer booked in after 6 pm and we appreciate a donation of minimum £5 for each walker.
So please, let's have plenty of walkers from the villages and their friends and relations taking part and writing Challock and Molash Churches on their entry forms.
For those who have missed the walk for the past two years, Godmersham is back with us after a break of a number of years. The Godmersham Estate is allowing, for that day only, the use of their estate roads and footpaths and old hands - or should that be old feet - will be pleased to know the revised route now takes us west of the mansion up a comparatively gentle climb to the Pilgrims' Way not far from the drop down to Soakham Farm.
NOTE! If you can't walk or don't walk then come for the refreshments anyway, our resident crystal ball gazer says they will be delicious.
What's not to like!!
To all Challock villagers:
